Vicky and Aaron
Pre-ceremony Wedding Photos at Farnham Castle
Getting ready is a serious business, but Vicky and her bridal party were also having fun and the room was full of laughter and smiles. Not to be outdone, Aaron and his groomsmen were also busy getting dressed to impress and popping the first champagne corks of the day.
After a quick stint with the boys I returned to the bridal party for the final preparations and that all important moment as Vicky’s father arrived to see her walk down the stairs of the Gatehouse.
I offer my couples full coverage, because things don’t start with the “I do’s”, and end with the first dance. The whole day is packed with memories, moments, fun, laughter and the occasional tear. To capture Vicky and Aaron’s full wedding day experience, I met Vicky bright and early at the Farnham Castle Gatehouse, where the excitement and a little bit of bubbly had already begun to flow.
The bridesmaids followed and then a proud father walked Vicky down the aisle to an emotional Aaron. Their civil ceremony was filled with happiness, laughter and love, all of which really come across in their photos. Vicky and Aaron left Lantern Hall as husband and wife to cheers and a shower of confetti before forming up for a large group photo.
A few minutes of mingle time and we then moved on to the formal portraits. Vicky and Aaron’s formals prove that these photos don’t have to be stuffy or awkward. I always aim to capture the personality of my couples and have some fun, which is exactly what we did!
Farnham Castle Civil Ceremony
As Vicky made the short walk from the Gatehouse to the main castle, I captured the bridal party passing through the stately grounds before taking up my position in the Lantern Hall, where Aaron and guests were eagerly waiting. With light flooding into the hall, the adorable flower girl toddled up the aisle causing a ripple of smiles to spread through the room.
Not wanting to keep Vicky and Aaron from their guests for too long we returned to the reception where the celebration continued with the energy that ran through the entire day. The speeches, a wonderful meal and the cake cutting all kept spirits high and all eyes were on Vicky and Aaron as they took to the floor for their first dance.
Some photographers leave at that point but, to offer truly full coverage, I stay later to capture the party atmosphere. As the photos show, Vicky and Aaron had a great party with their guests and their wedding day was a celebration from start to finish.
Farnham Castle Wedding Portraits
Then, for the first time that day, Vicky and Aaron got to enjoy some alone time. I backed off allowing them to share a moment as they walked together through the grounds and around the Farnham Castle Keep. We stopped for creative portraits in the early evening light at the iconic blue door and made further stops to include the keep and main castle as backdrops.
