Hosted at the beautiful De Vere Theobalds Estate in Cheshunt, Charissa and Glen’s wedding was a beautiful, luxurious affair. The two of them were both so relaxed and chilled that you might not have guessed they were even getting married, were it not for the fantastic surroundings.
The day began with photos of the bride and groom and their respective preparation rituals, which were great to see. They got ready at the venue just a few doors down from each other, which gave the traditional pre-wedding rituals a really special feel. The estate has a rich royal history, and you can see this in the beautiful rooms and the wooden panelling. It was once a country retreat for no less than King James I, and has hosted many historical events since 1763 when it was built. One of my favourite shots here was of the boys walking together, into ‘battle’ as it were!
The ceremony was beautiful, and the vows were exchanged before things moved out into the garden. It was the perfect weather to enjoy the stunning outdoor spaces at Theobalds Park, which boasts over 55 acres of beautiful grounds, and even features a tree-house! The venue is surely at the top of everyone’s list for a stunning wedding venue around the London area. Charissa looked stunning, and some of my favourite shots as photographer were of her and Glen with family in front of the grand, neo-classical façade of the main hall.
The day finished with a fantastic party, and there are some great high-energy shots of friends and family enjoying the dancing and frivolities. Towards the end of the proceedings we wanted to slow it down, and capture the intimate moments between the bride and groom with spot-lit, vintage style shots of them in the majesty of the wood panelled surrounds, lit by a candle chandelier.
