One of the best perks of being a popular wedding photographer is that I often get to travel around the country or Europe for weddings!
I felt super privileged when Sarah and David asked me to photograph their Chinese Wedding at the amazing Combermere Abbey in Whitchurch, Cheshire. With private acres of walled gardens, the romantic woodland and the elegant spaces of Combermere Abbey can accommodate every element of a wedding day. Needles to say I and my team were truly excited about having to capture a wedding at such a beautiful location. It was only the icing on the cake that I love photographing Chinese weddings as they are always fun, beautiful and emotional, and this wedding didn`t disappoint either.
The day started with some relaxed bridal and groom preparations (the calm before the storm some may say), but it quickly transformed into some Chinese Door Games craziness! We had everything from the best man jumping with jumping rope above a spiky plastic mat, a blindfolded make-up session between the groomsmen, to an unveiling ceremony when a bride wore a monkey-mask under the veil.
Once the morning emotions settled, the day transformed into a more traditional wedding experience. It was a pleasure photographing the traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony which was followed by an English Civil Wedding Ceremony. Since we have been super lucky with the weather all-day, we went down by the lake and used the outstanding Combermere Abbey as a backdrop for some stylish couple portraits.
The evening finished perfectly with an amazing party, and I would like to say a huge thank you to the Team of Combermere Abbey for making the day smooth, while also allowed us enough time for photos!
Once again Congratulations to David and Sara and thank you for trusting me with your wedding photos – I hope you will like your wedding photos!
