Jonathan and Leona – Druids Glenn Hotel Wedding Photography – A Destination Wedding Photography

Jonathan and Leona’s gorgeous Irish wedding was held at Druid’s Glen in the heart of County Wicklow, where the amazing staff really helped create a magical occasion. From the helpful concierge, who gave the happy couple a lift around on the ‘just married’ golf buggy, to staff who helped to stage photos, everyone was attentive and polite throughout the day.

I was lucky enough to be with Jonathan and Leona for most of the day, and was able to capture the moments before the ceremony where Leona was getting ready. Several generations of her family were present to give gifts and help support her through these intimate, unforgettable moments. She was, of course, stunning, and made a brilliant entrance to the ceremony in a vintage white Mercedes.

The ceremony was traditional and beautiful, with wooden pews and candles adorning the hall. Afterwards, the bride, groom and guests gathered around the altar for a range of shots which really captured the magic of the surroundings. Elsewhere, there were some fantastic photos in the grounds of Druid’s Glen. Some of my favourites were the couple in the wide open spaces of the golf course with the swirling clouds in the background. We also took some with the mossy bridge in the foreground that almost have a magical, Alice-in-Wonderland feel to them.

Dinner and the speeches were great fun, and Jonathan and Leona’s personalities really shone through in the banter and the cutting of the cake. The evening entertainment was explosive and really got the party started, with amazing drum beats followed by the Bentley Boys. The happy couple led the dancing, which went on well into the evening at a fantastic party. All that was left was some intimate twilight shots of Jonathan and Leona silhouetted against the fading light, to round off this wonderful day.
